Several dozen instances hosted

Odoo hosting in Switzerland

D&D has hosted Odoo Community and Enterprise instances for years, for direct clients and for integrators alike. We run the infrastructure; the functional configuration and the business modules stay with you.

Community and Enterprise

Both editions are hosted, according to your licence and your project.

Production and test

Production environments, and staging or test environments where they are needed.

PostgreSQL

Database installed and sized for the instance, backed up daily.

Hosted in Switzerland

The instance, its database and its backups are hosted in Switzerland, on D&D hardware.

Real experience, not a tick in a box

Odoo is one of the applications we host most. That changes the conversation.

We know how an Odoo instance consumes memory, how its PostgreSQL database grows, what to plan for when several dozen users work at the same time, and what happens during a version migration.

In practice that means machines sized from real usage rather than from an optimistic estimate, backups that account for both the database and the document store, and someone who understands what you are talking about when you call.

It also means we know what we do not do — and that matters just as much.

What D&D does, and what stays with you

This is the most important distinction on this page. D&D is an infrastructure hosting provider, not an Odoo integrator.

D&D takes care of

  • Creating and sizing the virtual machine
  • Initial installation of PostgreSQL and Odoo for the project
  • The operating system and its updates
  • Daily backups of the instance and its database
  • Restoration on request
  • Storage and its growth
  • The production environment
  • Staging or test environments where they are needed
  • Migration of an existing instance onto D&D infrastructure
  • Monitoring of the underlying infrastructure

Stays with you, or with your integrator

  • Odoo’s functional configuration
  • Business modules, standard or custom
  • Application development
  • Application version upgrades and their acceptance testing
  • Business data and its quality
  • Training and support for end users

Unless separately agreed. If you have no integrator and are looking for someone to handle the functional side, tell us: we will point you in the right direction rather than pretend.

You integrate Odoo. We host the infrastructure.

A significant share of the instances we host was entrusted to us by integrators. That is no accident.

An Odoo integrator has a trade: understanding a client’s business, configuring, developing, training, advising. Running machines, managing backups and getting up at night when a host fails is not that trade.

We take that part. You keep yours, entirely. We do not offer Odoo integration services, we do not approach your clients, and we do not look to widen our footprint inside their organisation. The commercial relationship remains yours, and how visible D&D is to your client is your decision.

This is a long-term position, not a commercial clause: our model rests on the trust of the providers who entrust their clients to us.

  • You remain your client’s point of contact, or we deal with them directly if you prefer
  • We can stay discreet about the hosting chain towards your client
  • A named technical contact at D&D for your requests
  • Test environments created on request for your acceptance testing and migrations

Migrating an existing instance

The most common case is not a new build: it is an instance running elsewhere that has to be moved.

We look at what exists

Odoo version, edition, database size, document store volume, custom modules, customisations, integrations with other systems.

We size the target

Machine, memory, storage, possible separation of the database. We start from observed usage, not from an average.

We prepare and test

The instance is rebuilt on our infrastructure and tested before the cutover. You, or your integrator, confirm that it works.

We cut over

A planned cutover, in an agreed window, with a final data sync and a way back.

We operate

Daily backups, system updates, monitoring. You go back to working on Odoo, not on infrastructure.

Pricing

Configuration and price to match your requirements.

An Odoo instance is sized according to the number of concurrent users, the modules in use, the size of the database and document store, and whether you need test environments. Those factors determine the configuration, and therefore the price.

Frequently asked questions

Is D&D an Odoo integrator?

No. We are an infrastructure hosting provider. We install and operate the technical environment — machine, system, PostgreSQL, backups — but we do not carry out functional configuration, module development or business consulting.

This scope is deliberate: it allows us to work with integrators without competing with them.

Do you host Odoo Community and Odoo Enterprise?

Yes, both. The Enterprise licence is a matter between you and Odoo or your integrator; hosting is a matter for us.

Can you host a test environment alongside production?

Yes. Staging and test environments are common, particularly for acceptance testing and version migrations. They are created where they are needed.

Who handles the updates?

Operating system updates are D&D’s responsibility.

Odoo version upgrades themselves, and the functional acceptance testing that goes with them, are yours or your integrator’s. We provide the environment to prepare and test them, and we handle the infrastructure side.

Where is the instance’s data hosted?

In Switzerland, on hardware owned by D&D. The database, the document store and the daily backups are all on the Swiss infrastructure.

Can my integrator remain my company’s single point of contact?

Yes, and that is the most common arrangement. How visible D&D is to the end client is decided with the integrator.

An Odoo instance to host or migrate?

Tell us the version, the edition, the number of users and where it runs today. We will come back with a proposal.
